After a Circle Intensive - Sept. '11 in Belgium, hosted by Christina Baldwin and Ann Linnea - we opened this group/space to share experiences with circle practice. So, here it is for anyone to use. Please share any stories of how the circle has worked, lived and digested in your self and in your work and life.
On this site is also a conversation space that is intended to gather reflections on how important Circle Practice is for Art of Hosting practitioners to deepen their overall practice; so that one has a more specific focus.
October '14 there opened a Facebook group on The Circle Way, that you might enjoy too!
Here all kind of stories are welcome!

ciao cara,
well you are perfectly right when you say that either you gather around in a circle with people who know and then is something completely natural, or you feel you have to explain what a circle is.
It happened to me during a session of training at PoliDesign in Milano. the ppt did not work and I had to explain art of hosting, conflict managements and bla bla bla.
so I sad; well barcodata is not fixed let's go into the circle, i sat on the floor and i started to draw some drawings in a piece of paper and I asked participants to speak their words in a simple and short way to introduce themselves and tell me what their dream was; it was so natural that one of the main prof of the University said at a certain moment: this is a miracle.
yes i think we do miracles all days and it is quite simple if we believe in them: so to answer your question, just do it, prepare and set the chairs and if you want to explain something just tell them: we are now doing what our ancestors have done for ages in a very simple way, we sit in a circle we look to each other and we gather around the fire: all our intentions and energies are there and we use this space as a sacred and speciale one for us hic et nunc (here and now).
what do you think? is it too simple?
Dear All,
Only now I had time to fully put my attention into all these wonderful insights and experiences you had shared here.
Right after I returned to Helsinki I also was met with an abundant flow of different circles and while I was involved with them I constantly faced the same question: how to talk about the circle work to people (from different backgrounds). Recently I took part in a really inspirational organization constellation workshop where somebody had just looked at my fb-site and saw something about the Brussels workshop. So they asked what this circle work is in a nutshell and part of me felt like oh my, what it is if I have to describe it in three sentences.Dear All,
a few weeks ago a friend of mine died - and I would like to honour her by sharing her favourite quote with you:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of the universe.Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of the universe that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”, written by Marianne Williamson
Dear Franziska,
What wise and thought provoking questions you raise. I want to taste them more and think through them for myself.
I especially love the "honey" comment at the end. So true.
love and hugs,
Mara
circle at work in our organisation... check-in to a stakehodler meeting (with international organisations, government representatives, and NGOs)
yes trust and love them
they will think to be accepted and be included and they will do the miracle
