Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I'm an experienced World Cafe host, and have close friendships with many people in the Art of Hosting community, a significant portion of whom are also part of the World Cafe community, as there are obviously overlaps on several levels - personally, professionally, methodologically, and ideologically.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am passionate about the "central garden" that we are tending together, and as a practitioner and steward of the Art of Hosting and World Cafe (and Circle) I am honored to help hold the beauty and wonder of that center that transcends any particular method or ideology.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I'm primarily focused on hosting virtual World Cafes and other dialogue-based interactive online events, as I feel it is very important to infuse the medium with the intimacy and power of real humanity and inter-personal connection, as well as a direct connection with the natural world.

In my home and communities, my method of choice is very often circle work, but whatever "form" I use, my purpose is the same - to infuse our world and our lives with human/nature connection and the love that holds everything together.
Where do you live/work?
California
Would you like to share a web address?

Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I'm fascinated and excited by about Beauty, in all her guises. My creative and spiritual work is all about looking for the beauty of this world and illuminating it. Not to deny or ignore the pain and dis-function, but to approach my life appreciatively and use my skills and perceptions to provoke/evoke/stimulate/catalyze positive change.

Hey Amy my friend! Back is Paris is working well for me, so much happening. We held our 2nd one-day community of practitioner's gathering on seeking the host's posture, what makes for a deep, quiet, sourcing place from which to host? Very rich day with 23 of us coming together; it has opened up a new learning format for us here in France. Did you stay in close touch with nature for the 2 weeks you stayed on in Minnesota? With much love from Paris!...
