How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I followed a winding path to Art of Hosting. My first step was at a career networking meeting in spring 2007. One gentleman spoke of "servant leadership", a phrase which so piqued my interest that I googled it later that day. To my surprise, the Greenleaf Conference was going to be in town several weeks later. To my delight, the conference planners immediately accepted my request to attend as a volunteer. The rest, in that vein, is history. You can visit our community at dfwservantleaders.ning.com. I followed Ann McGee Cooper and Associates to Boston in fall 2008 for the Pegasus conference. From there, it was a mere hop, skip, and a jump to here. But, let's still consider me a newbie.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I don't yet have a primary field or focus in my hosting practice. Something around peace and justice. Which sounds so big and noble and nebulous...
Suzanne, you are my first "friend". I am very new to this phenomenon of social networkng and a little skittish about it. but thank you for making me feel welcome as I learn. Imagine! Here I am in the heart of southern Ontario and you in Texas! maybe someday we will see each other in person in this "small world".
