How do we want to further activate the New Story (on Cape Ann and in the larger bio-region)?

I once heard it said "the quality of our lives is in direct proportion to the quality of questions we ask ourselves." Tonight approximately ten of us will gather to ask ourselves in what ways we want to further activate the New Story (on Cape Ann and in the larger bio-region). It will be an evening of asking powerful and passionate questions rather than an evening of making plans, hatching ideas, or taking action. This is how we will begin to live the Art of Hosting pattern here on Cape Ann. I…See More

A Letter to My Future Self

On the last day of the retreat we each wrote a letter forward in time to our future selves as a way of capturing the joy, passion, and purpose of the retreat. We put our letters in self addressed envelopes that will be mailed from Cape Ann. I would like to open a space here for our future selves to dialogue with one another. As you live your way into the New Story what is most alive for you and your future self? I also wanted to post the Hafiz poem that opened that activity: Cast All Your Votes…See More

"Tenneson ... I wasn't in this open space session, but the poem you harvested is amazing. So much said in so few words. Just reading it brings the energy of the retreat back with radiance and joy. Thank you for being the harvest. "

Edveeje Fairchild commented on Ria Baeck's blog post 'Relationship between old and new story'
"One of the things that came through for me during this constellation is that there really isn't any such thing as "THE new story." There are MANY simultaneous new stories shimmering on the horizon and multiple stories running parallel…"

Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
The Art of Hosting held a training at the Essex Conference Center in Essex Massachusetts a few years ago. At the time I was co-executive director of Sustainable Cape Ann and we were doing a lot of our local community work according to the Emergence Theory Model. Attending a local Art of Hosting training was a great chance to become formally part of this larger field of social innovation in the Boston area. I have been using Art of Hosting modalities and frameworks for the last three years as part of my local work on Cape Ann.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I am the founder of A Woman's Guild which is a social network that calls forth, connects, and hosts the apprentices, artisans, and masters of the Great Work. We believe women's passions can meet the world's deep needs and that women in the 21st century are standing at the crossroads between the cosmic and the wild. The restoration of woman, the wild, and of the planet Earth has become the modern Holy Grail for women. The Art of Hosting is a gorgeous platform from which to do this kind of collaborative work.
Where do you live/work?
