Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?: I learnt about Art of Hosting from a friend in October 2009 (at Warburton in Victoria, Australia). I was at a crossroads in my professional and life work and looking for new ways of engaging with myself, others and the world.

Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward): I would simply say that I am a practitioner. Each time I step into an AofH space my understanding of the principles and methodologies of AofH becomes stronger and my practice deepens.

I have been using Art of Hosting principles and practices pretty regularly for for the past 12-18 months. Art of Hosting is breathing new life in my work supporting individuals and groups of people engage with each other in meaningful and useful ways.

I have also called an AofH gathering (in August 2010) with fellow practitioners and with Mary-Alice stewarding the core team. I have also (with others) called an Experienced Practitioner Retreat and have held 'the space' for fellow AofH travellers as we dived together into our collective journeys.

What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?: Leader and leadership development. The vision of the group I founded and continue to host with other is: To evolve consciousness for an integrated world.

Together the focus of our hosting work is to enable leaders (wherever they may be found) to think, feel, act, live and lead in more expansive and integrated ways.

Our specific focus in our work is the inner path of leadership coupled with large group creativity for wise action.

Where do you live/work?: I live in Melbourne, but I work where ever I can add value in helping individuals and groups think in more expansive and integrated ways.

POEM: Speak And I Will Listen

At the recent Experienced Practitioner Retreat (Daylesford, Australia) I wrote the following poem in the morning prior to the commencement of the Retreat. At the time I was feeling a strong sense of disconnect with myself, so wrote these words to calm my soul and still my mind.

Stillness speaks

and awakens the sound

of my heart

for those I love.

and I listen,

Conversation Harvest to the question, "What are conditions that allow spaces of non-judgment to open and remain grounded?"

Earlier this month, I attended an Experienced AofH Practitioner Retreat (in Daylesford, Australia). It was a wonderfully nourishing 1.5 days attended by just over 20 participants.
