Because more and more AoH practitioners are doing research - many times on their own - and they want to connect... It all started with some emails... (click link below) Maybe, at some point, a joint research project will emerge...

As I am sensing that this conversation will expand, I opened a separate conversation thread for it. Then this Wall stays 'open' for more announcement kind of things. Please post there when it is about Evaluation/Research.
Looking forward to what will unfold.

Stephen,
I look forward to seeing your research questions. I am beginning to ponder, as well, how to bring more clarity, languaging, and credibility to what is actually happening in emergent conversational space and practices. I need to look at the link that Ria mentions. My curiosity is really about embedding AoH, especially deep circle, into education - humans leaning to be together to inquire into big questions in a way they have not experienced before. This may relate, at least indirectly, to your project. I will wait and see. In any case, if there is a Skype conversation, I am happy to join. Look forward to your questions. and also to hear the School of Psychology thinking.

Hi All,

A group of us reviewd the project logic yesterday and reached some more clarity! We will now be able to develop the research questions. I will post those (hopefully later today) on here for some comment and feedback. On wed next week I will be meeting with the Head of the School of Psychology at Deakin to revierw the research questions finally too.

I'd be very happy to participate in a Skype conversation at some stage to talk through our approach and how to collaborate.

Kind regards

Stephen

Hello Stephen - and all,

The research-evalution report that was produced in Columbus Ohio, you can find just one click away! Under Resources, click the subtab Research Papers. OK, that's two clcks! Right now it is the only one that is there.

Stephen, I am also very interested in step two (finding the research questions) and four (finding themes and patterns) of the list that you offered. Maybe we have to set up some joined conversation for all of us interested in evaluation?

Hi all, I am very intersting in joining the discussion regarding evaluation. I am involved with an initiative here that has 3 residential trainings (3 day, 2day, 2 days) over the next 8 months based on AoH practices. Chris Corrigan is one of the faculty members along with me and our colleague Ginny Belden-Charles. There are 7 different cohort groups particpating. The cohort groups will use the AoH learnings to help them design a project to address various social determinants of health affecting childre 0-5 years old. The proejct must have a strong connection to the local community. Once designed the project will be funded for 3 years for implementation. During this 4-year period the entire initaitive will be followed by an evaluation team that will look at both the impact of the AoH training on how the participants shift (if they do) leadership practices and the projects themselves. jerry

Stephen, I'd be open to supporting some of your work on this project. At least in providing a kind of outside reader/writer if there's need....

Hi Ria,
We are doing an evaluation of the impact of the AoH training in Melbourne/Australia (approx 320 participatns so far). We are in the process of developing a logic map, from which our research questions will emerge. We will follow that up with qualitative data collection to identify themes (not sure how many people yet, as it depends on the research questions). There might be a small literature review too. We will then do quantitative data collection (all participants) to determine the extent that the themes apply. We will then do the analysis and report.
So you (or anyone) can participate at any level, including
- reviewing the logic map
- reviewing the research questions
- doing some data collection (including broadening it out beyond Aus)
- helping with the analysis of themes and data
- participating in writing or reviewing the report

It is our intention to then seek funds for a deeper research piece, using the inital research as a basis.

It would be great to get the Columbus report.

Hello Stephen, Do you know that a few years ago they did something like you are asking here in the Columbus-Ohio project on Health. There is also a report available. And Phil is still working on this, trying to come to a kind of measurement - see the report of the Bowen Island Stewards gathering. (did you get it?)
As I am very interested in the research line of this community, could you say more about what kind of collaboration you have in mind? how many participants do you have in mind etc.
We are planning a next Research Conversation, maybe that could be part of it as well?

Is anyone interested in collaborating on a simple research/evaluation process following up with people who have participated in AoH?
