Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I found out about the AoH from books and websites focused on community engagmenet. I attended the AoH seminar in Canberra 11-13 Sep 2019.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I consider myself a starting practitioner.
While I have only recently attended my first 3 day seminar I feel at home in this way of being and working together. I have spent more than 15 years focusing on the skill and practice of 'hosting myself'' and passing on those skills to others through yoga, meditation and mindfulness (the art of conscious living). I intuitively understand what is required to hold a sacred space and have created such a space in many of the living consciously workshops I have held over the years.
What I need to learn more about are the different facilitation tools, e.g. 'Open Space', World Cafe' etc. and gain discernment when to apply which one.
I have always been aware of the importance of how we invite people to a conversation and love the creativity and soul searching involved in finding great questions.
Learning and thinking more about harvesting has been incredibly valuable and exciting and is something I want to pay close attention to.
I am also engaged in the NVC (non-violent-communication) community of practice which ties in beautifully with the AoH philosophy.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I am currently in a 'pregnant pause', receptive to new ideas and posibilities in how to apply my skills in this next chapter of my life.
More and more I feel drawn to the art of hosting and harvesting generative conversations in the spirit of building healthy and sustainable communities. It follows on beautifully from my previous work which was focused on sharing tools to improve wellbeing and increase awareness on an individual leve (hosting self).
Where do you live/work?
I live in Dunedin, NZ but am open to move were life takes me.

Good Day,

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on ( mrjamespollard@yahoo.com ) for the full details.
Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.

Hello, Uschi, and welcome to the Art of Hosting community! Glad to see you here. Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you. We hope you will find value in exchanging in this virtual community!
