How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
When I came accross The Hub, around April 2007. Everything was attractive as it gave a frame to what I loved most inside me and gave it a name as well as colleagues. Did the AoH training in Berlin 2009.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I try to weave the practice in my everyday work and life, although I think I am a starting practitioner. I would like to grow and deepen my practice.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I host the friends, the community of members, the space and the team of Hub Madrid since 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively. ;-)
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I studied social communications in Argentina, did a postgraduate course in corporate communications and graphic design for a short period of time. Worked building the local chapters and communications departments of UN youth and “Un techo para Argentina” (A roof for Argentina), a NGO that builds houses for people that didn´t have their own space to live. I was totally into words, interaction and media, so I flirted with radio, tv and a magazine in Barcelona but ended up seeking even more challenging and entrepreneurial knowledge by studying an MBA in Madrid (and came across The Hub!). Love my country, friends and family but wanted to explore the world and other cultures, maybe encouraged by 2 life-changing experiences as an exchange student: one in Belfast (NI, UK) in a year of cease-fire, the second one in Palo Alto (CA, US). The latter might be the reason why I am so interested in technology! Personal communication is for me as important as the one mediated by technology and its possibilities to connect and enable people, projects and communities. I have also worked at an e-learning & training consultancy and have been the coordinator of an innovative programme to foster women career´s through mentoring and the use of technology at IE Business School. I like taking loads of photographs as a way of documenting life, enjoy discovering places while walking/cycling and several sports although I hardly have time to practice them.
