"Great question, Katie!  I always think in terms of questions and images and, in fact, have been posting a photo and a question to a daily photo blog for the last 5 years.  Here's a post from earlier this fall that in my mind fits this…"

Carla Kimball replied to Ursula Hillbrand's discussion 'Hosting with the elementals' in the group Hosting with the subtle worlds
"Ursula, Ah... I wish I could go this year.    While you are there, do look for the birds, and also listen to the wind, notice the scat left on paths by animals who share the land, listen to the river below the river in the rema (the…"

"I spent two months in a yurt at Axladitsa-Avatakia in Greece a couple of years ago.  It was an opportunity for me to completely unplug from my normal life and "listen to the butterflies".  Towards the end of my stay there I often…"

Carla Kimball commented on Ursula Hillbrand's group 'Hosting with the subtle worlds'
"Thanks for setting this up Ursula.  I too attended the Art of Humans Being in Massachusetts and through that experience was reminded (again) of how much wisdom the natural world has to offer.  Through a regular practice of movement and…"

"What's called me to this gathering? I think it's the simple placement of the letter "S". The idea that we are gathering as humanS being together rather than as a group of human beingS, something about this feels deeply right to…"

Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
Starting practitioner. I participated in a training in Boston 4 years ago. And, also did a two-month sabbatical at Axladitsa-Avatakia in Greece two years ago where Sarah and Maria use the AoH as a daily organizing principle.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I attended one training 4 years ago, was a participant in the Art of Humans Being in the summer of 2010, served as a host in a training in Essex, MA in January, 2011, and am now on a hosting team for a soon to be announced training in Vermont in August, 2011. I have also practiced aspects of AoH in various communities and am now an active participant in a community of practice in Vermont. I guess I would say I'm a moderately experienced practitioner.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
At this point my interest is general with the hope of being able to apply this practice in the community where I live. I currently have a particular interest in how to apply these practices in education.
Where do you live/work?
Hartland, Vermont and New England
Would you like to share a web address?
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Presence, dancing, tai chi, photography
