Paolo Martinez, if you are in Brussels you are also very welcome to join the Thursday morning coffee circle conversations happening every Thursday between 8.30 - 9.30 a.m. in the basement of the Exki cafe on Rond point Schuman. We also have a facebook group (called Thursday morning coffee conversations). There are also regular Pro Action cafes organised in Brussels, the next one is on 22 August 2019. For the invite and more info email to proactioncafe@gmail.com

Hello Paolo Martinez,
You might have noticed that not much exchange of information or stories has been going on here.
If you want to know more about what is happening in the EU institutions, it might be easier to connect on the AoH FB group and ask people for their stories and their expertise in this regard. There are a couple of people who, most likely, will respond there - and not here...
Thinking of Helen Titchen Beeth, Ian Anderson, and others...

Hello, I just Joined the AoH and am curious to discover the groups and activities. I am still orienteering in the different spaces and decided to join this group on the Art of Participatory Leadership in the EU institutions. Can someone guide me and help me understand what is the programme and what are running activities and tasks of the group? Thank you!

Hi everyone. Under the 2013 European Year of the Citizen, in Jan 2013, DG Research and Innovation launched the VOICES initiative: a pan-European (27 MS) participatory face-to-face consultation process that engaged 1000 citizens in 99 focus groups, in 23 languages to deliberate their needs, desires and aspiration on urban waste and the transition to a zero waste society. The results will be available soon, so stay posted! VOICES was a pilot. If successful, similar types of participatory consultation processes will be called for in Horizon2020 - for a wide range of scientific disciplines - so as to influence EU policy agenda. This is good news!! Moreover, societal and multi-actor engagement will be mainstreamed as a cross-cutting action (aka: responsible research and innovation)...so more exiting opportunities to implement Art of Hosting are around the corner!

hi would you be interested in knowing a little bit about:

- participatory leadership used at Politecnico di Milano during systemic strategic design in order to understand 7FP (research programme) and in writing a proposal?

- or participatory leadership used at Maison de la poesie (Maelstrom DAVIDE GIANNONI) for change management and strategy purposes?

or again on the hill of Fontanigorda a participatory leadership to enhance awareness among adult people spending some holiday time on the HILL in a farm (Italy)

pls let me know at daniela.terrile@gmail.com

Hello all,

Thank you for all the input and your willingness to contribute to our thesis. As of now, having interviewed Matthieu, we have chosen some "case- studies". As currently stands, we want to interview Ylva Tiveus, Gertrude Ingestad and Waltraud Heller (that has written on this thread already).

We recognize that many of you have been pivotal to the unfolding of the participatory leadership being introduced to the EC. Where we are coming from with our research is that we want to research social capital (as defined by Putnam 2000: norms, networks and TRUST). We want to see how the AofPL has impacted the social capital where it has been used within the EC. We are looking for case studies where we will interview 6-8 participants, 1 caller and 1 host (approx).

We are looking, NOT for AoPL-trainings but where it has been used as a way of facilitating another process. Since I know that your knowledge is much greater than that of my thesis-group, feel free to give us input on a case-study that fits this description AND where we can get access to participants (and host & caller).

kind regards from Sweden

Hej Niklas.

Just to muddle things even more, I'd say let us not forget that the EU community isn't Bruxelles only. Luxemburg is alive and well, tusand takkar :-)
