How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I learned about it in 2004 in Vancouver. What initially attracted me to it was the word "hosting", with its connotations of generosity, hospitality, welcome, and inclusiveness. I had also participated in some World Cafe and Open Space processes and loved how they created dynamic and "sparky" spaces for juicy conversation, and I wanted to learn a lot more, both about those processes and others that had the same "turning toward each other" approach.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I've participated in, hosted and harvested many World Cafes, and have participated and harvested a number of Open Space conversations. I had my first experience co-hosting an Open Space last week. So I guess I'd call myself a starting practitioner with some depth of theoretical knowledge about AoH.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Still working my way to an answer for this question!
Great to see your smiling face greeting me here. And yes, please, let's stay in touch, either here or on the FB group (which I haven't been approved for yet, but soon.
