How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I have been aware of the community for some time and recently attended a training with Chris Corrigan, following on from this I attended a 4 day art of hosting training in Karlskrona Sweden. I am now looking to connect with a community of practice and to further integrate AoH ethos and methods into my life and work.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have 30 years experience of participatory facilitation working with communities and organisations to support change, learning and development both from a voluntary sector and a public sector perspective. While I have used many of the Aoh approaches in my work over the years, I have only recently attended Aoh training so very keen to work with hosting teams to support the design and delivery of future trainings so i can really learn and embed my practice
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Collaborative/participatory leadership, action inquiry, Organisational Change and transformation, multi stakeholder engagement, organisational learning and development, community participation, person centred planning, public sector reform, co-production, health and social care integration, agile, creative learning
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Creative conversations
Coaching
Theatre as a tool for surfacing and embodying shared learning and group dynamics
Creative writing and storytelling as tools for transformation
The power of listening
Compassionate listening
Participatory leadership
Process design
Collaborative leadership

I am looking for ways to create more practice spaces (while also trying to ensure I do remunerative work!). Our next AoH in Switzerland is in March of next year and we already have a waiting list of Apprentices. We don't really do apprentices as we have sought to attract people and teams from organisations and are increasingly doing so. Our team meets for almost a year online os that by the time we enter the design stages before the event, we already have quite a deep alignment. However, that doesn't allow for apprenticing. I am wondering if there could be a call for Art of Hosting Apprentices - in which we design, hold and experience a session with mostly apprentices. This would allow us to debrief every session too, which currently rarely happens...
Otherwise, best bet is to go to artofhosting.org and look up upcoming events and contact the hosting team...
Hello, Pauline, and welcome to the Art of Hosting community! Glad to see you here. Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you. We hope you will find value in exchanging in this virtual community!
