How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
Through Southern Jam and Mycelium workshops in 2014. I have been doing participatory work for some time and these two events deepened my skills and knowledge. I had been using some of these tools before and added new ones there and have been actively using them in many different settings since then.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Experienced practitioner. I have been working in asset based community development work for many years and inclusive, participatory processes are my lifeblood!
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Community building, strengthening organizational culture, integrating art into meetings and events, racial equity and the beloved community.
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I love using art and song to bring people together. I am a storyteller, writer and facilitator who believes in the power and wisdom of community - regardless of the type of community! Whether work place, faith-based, geographic or in a meeting, I truly believe in tapping into the wisdom in the room!
