How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
Heard about you from your online site - Summer 2015. Kept your information bookmarked to go back to. I love the idea of creating spaces where collective wisdom can be explored and applied to personal, social, and collective issues.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am a trained Circles of Courage Facilitator (Courage to Teach) since 2003. Training was provided by Center for Courage & Renewal/Parker Palmer. I have been leading workshops, books studies, and presentations in Manitoba & Calgary area since 2004 for teachers and educational leaders. I would consider myself an experienced practitioner.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Education K-12; Education Post-Secondary; Mental Health & Wellness; gender & equality; cultural equality
Where do you live/work?
Live in Calgary. Work as an instructor at the University of Calgary; work part-time as an addictions counsellor at the Aventa Addiction Treatment Centre for Women
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Love creating spaces where people can be authentic, speak from the heart, and collectively work together to address issues in order to relieve suffering on all levels.
