How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I learned about the Art of Hosting through some colleagues at Graduate School, in 2014. I am a Masters candidate in a program called Human Systems Intervention, at Concordia University (Montreal). The approach that we learn is aimed to design and implement collaborative and participatory processes for learning and change in social systems.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have listened to the experiences with the AoH of some colleagues at school. One of them learned it through the Berkana Institute. I consider myself to be new to this practice, eager to learn more about it.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
One of my main purposes is to learn how to hold the space for meaningful conversations to happen, conversations that help groups to work collaboratively, supporting each other in their learning journey.
Where do you live/work?
Calgary and Montreal
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I love psychology, particularly the work of Carl Jung. I also recently started to explore the work of Otto Scharmer in the U.Lab online course (Theory U), and feel quite inspired by it! I want my work to help transform the way we relate to each other, so that we can truly connect from our true selves.
