Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I initially learned about AOH through a friend, Carla Kimball, in 2007. We both used a form of circling work known as Speaking Circles and I extended the various ways this form of work could be used for personal and professional development. Carla knew I had a passion for convening leadership conversations in organizational settings.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
My first AOH training was with Bob Stilger and Mary Alice in Thailand in 2011 and my second was on Bowen Island with Chris Corrigan, Caitlin Frost, Tenneson Woolf, Amanda Fenton, and Teresa Posokony in November 2016. By then, I was interested in studying AOH's path to stewardship for my doctoral dissertation. However, as one whose livelihood is in consulting, training and facilitation, I realized my focus wanted to be on stewardship rather than scholarship. I chose to leave my doctoral program (having earned a Masters) in Leadership and Social Transformation. Now, I'm calling the Nov 5-8 AOH to activate my stewarding capabilities and turn Colorado into a hub for participatory leadership development..
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I know some of the methods and approaches (Appreciative Inquiry, circling, storytelling, Theory U, World Cafe, Open Space, and have used most of these professionally, however not in the AOH training context.
Where do you live/work?
Boulder, CO, USA
Would you like to share a web address?
http://aoh-co.weebly.com/
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Creating powerful, purposeful We-spaces where our highest potential can be realized. I have a strong interest in leadership development in SE Asia, especially bringing together different cultural backgrounds and people of different generations.
