How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
Website. I was interested in learning about facilitation methods and found this interesting, as I was also learning about complexity science at the same time !
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I recently attended the AOH session in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Soon to attend the AOH water dialogues session as well. I am a starting practitioner.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I am from the mining industry (actually exploration - the early stage). I am interested in helping to host conversations about the challenges and opportunities for our industry. I am also interested in helping my peers come to the table with others to discuss our futures. Many geologists stay quiet, with their heads low - to avoid perceived "cross fire" . They care a lot about our communities, environment and futures for our world, yet don't always feel welcome at the table, I have heard.
Where do you live/work?
Vancouver
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I am interested in helping out/attending any hostings with experienced practictioners - in any contexts. At my first AOH, it was interesting to hear of challenges in the Not for Profit and how similar they were for the non revenue world of mineral exploration ! Gems emerging !
