How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?: I learned about it from colleagues at work. I recently attended my first Art of Hosting Session in Halifax, NS.

Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward): Having been part of many engagement processes that have used Art of Hosting techniques, as well as having completed my first full training session, I feel that I have a very good understanding of the approach. Through my work I have been involved in dialogue facilitation, and community capacity building for many years, however I it did not feel that I followed a particular method, or drew on any specific skills. It was simply my experience guide me. Learning the theory and tools of AoH has transformed this, as I now feel that I'm able to only now does it begin to feel that I'm able to hone my experience, and make use of my knowledge and skills in a completely different way. Although I am a "starting practitioner" in AoH, I feel that this training has clarified and excelled my ability to my work.

What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?: Community Capacity Building around issues of food sustainability and equity.
