The Art of Hosting

Question posted by Stephen, Dec.'11:

Hi All,

Tomorrow I'm facilitating the check-in of a close group of 27 people, who are also generally pretty seasoned hosts.

I'm after ideas of something fun and inspiring that will not take too long.

I look forward to hearing your ideas.

Stephen

Hi

There is a fun game I have used a few times where I invite people to wander around the room and every time they meet someone they have to greet them in a different way from how they have greeted anyone else so far that day.  They can use words (in any language), noises, gestures etc, but it has to be respectful - when they run out of ideas they sit down - last pair standing 'win'.

I used this once with a well-established group followed by a check-in question 'what is the most important thing about yourself that you have never said in a check-in?'

The combination of connecting up and then inviting a bit of depth got us going very quickly.

Good luck

Chris

Final answer:

Hi Chris,

I used both and it was fun and the check-in was quite a challenge.

Many thanks

Stephen
