This is ultimately an invitation to practitioners from this community to join a discussion about Life after a Large Scale Event and “The Heart of Our Work” There is no other place on the internet, where 95% of the people, who occupy the electronic enclaves, understand and practice “work of the heart” -- This is truly a community of practitioners…
Two parts to this discussion:
Core Change is an inspiring Appreciative Inquiry Summit, February 17-19, 2012, Cincinnati, OH. David Cooperrider and Peter Senge are co-facilitating the 2.5 day summit. Event planners have built in the mechanisms to collect lots of information from participants and collate it into tables, lists and spreadsheets, as the work moves forward... Many are thinking about life after the summit and how to keep the momentum going. I want to think about life after the summit in small local ways and in the places where community is alive. To learn more and to follow Core Change click here.
“The Heart of Our Work” is a story created by a group of practitioners assembled to host a deep dive into Appreciative Inquiry and other large scale change methods. The story is a 36 hour conversation / email thread through which a “jewel” emerged. It’s just days before the 2008 NEXUS for Change II and the NEXUS U Faculty engages in dialogue about the Heart of Our Work. Is this how to maintain the momentum after the Core Change AI Summit? Hello Dan, these are great questions!!! If you don't get answers here, I would propose that you post your question to the Art of Hosting emaillist - maybe inviting them over to answer here? The truth is that most people still like the ease of email better than checking in an online space...

Thanks Ria for your hospitality, generosity, attention and intention for this community. I value your knowledge and experience with the online aspects of this community. I have posted this discussion to the AoH email list.
With Gratitude, Dan
Thanks for the great harvest! I like the drawings.
I was wondering if you have some AoH practitioners near by that can help you with 'to think together' on this project? I just now see that you are in Ohio, there are lots of practitioners in Columbus, Ohio, and its region.
With love from Belgium,
Ria

Yes Ria, thanks for asking. We've connected with some of the folks from Columbus, in the past. Its only 100 mi. / 160.934 km from here. Tuesday Ryan-Hart and I communicated recently about the 5th Organizational Paradigm, it should prove helpful as we go forward. I also know Lina Cramer and some the of the Illinois AoH folks. I'm sure when the time comes, they will be there for us...
Blessings from Southern Ohio
Dan
Ahh, Tuesday and Lina - yes, then you are in good company! Wishing you well and all the best with your project!
The post event harvest continues... Day 3 became a day of commitment and ownership. People felt a keener sense of themselves and each other. Many offered their gifts for the future of the New American City.
The Core Change initiative in Cincinnati, Ohio is still alive. Some of the 700 participants from last winter’s AI Summit have been busy carrying the energy forward. Numerous action groups have been developing and performing tasks, on their own. In the meantime, a Core Team has been organizing a Core Change structure that will keep the imitative alive without encumbering the efforts of real citizenship and authentic change. The Core Change structure is self-organizing into a nimble vehicle for the restoration of citizenship and the co-creation of health, peace and prosperity in the region…
Art of Hosting principals have been infused into the design and continue to be offered as the Core Change structure/governance is developed. Traditional organizational structures are preferred by some core team members but I’m noticing that the team’s narrative is slowly changing. In the most recent drawing of the Core Change structure, you’ll see evidence of AoH patterns and language. All of this is very encouraging…
Hé Dan, this is great!!
I would suggest that you offer your message and drawing also through the AoH emaillist - as more people will read it there. And if ever you have a written description that goes along with the drawing that would be most helpful! An example of the 5th paradigm, really great!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Dan, thank you for this rich harvest! I just found this thread by coincidence browsing the AoH ning. A great inspiration for a harvesting question: What is the life after http://www.kulturkreative.net/download/KIP_Projekt_en.pdf - a conference on integral politics where some German-speaking AoH practitioners will be hosting a process in a few days.
Thank you Frauke, would love to hear how things went...
