How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
From a fellow Restorative Justice practitioner on Pender Island who was organizing a Hosting conference in November 2012.
The methodology resonated with what I already practise when I do circles and ceremony but it gave me a fresh and precise vision of how it can be used with large groups to to gain clarity of purpose & engage people in decision-making.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I would say I'm a starting practitioner, although the concepts and metaphors have been part of my life for many years. My intention is to re-connect with the Restorative Justice group on Pender and help steward a broader application of the principles for community development and conflict resolution.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Restorative Justice and peace-making.
Where do you live/work?
Pender island, BC, Canada
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
The Hosting methodology dovetails beautifully with both my Reiki training (being a conduit for universal healing energy) and my Buddhist experience of employing skillful means in order to unite compassion and service.
