How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I learned about Art of Hosting from the book Walk Out, Walk On - 11/11/12, Verona, NJ, USA. Art of Hosting fits very well with my work as a life coach servicing community residents and change agents.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I teach coaching skills in an experiential, circle and small group format and also conduct prison and community communication and conflict prevention/resolution workshops (AVP) in the same format. have participated in circles and world cafes and find them to be very effective and engaging. I'm looking forward to learning specifics of the Art of Hosting practice..
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I hope to focus my hosting work on bringing people together in low income urban New Jersey communities for creative collaboration in support of community transformation. It's a way we can together remember and access personal and shared power to address the challenges contributing to poverty, abuse, food and mass incarceration issues among others.
Where do you live/work?
I live in Verona, NJ where my business is based. I travel to do training and workshops.
Would you like to share a web address?

Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I am a life coach and trainer with a passion for sharing coaching skills in low income communities to support connection, collaboration and community transformation. I am also a coach and coaching skills trainer, and an Alternatives to Violence Project facilitator conducting weekend workshops in two NJ correctional facilities. I volunteer group and individual coaching in urban communities.

Welcome to the Art of Hosting community, Sharon! Glad to see you here! Please post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you.

You will want to contact Nancy Fritsche Egan, who also lives in New Jersey and is part of the NYC Art of Hosting community.
