Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I was studying as a PhD student the alternative possibilities emerging from the applications of complex adaptive systems in organizations. This orientation I'm still passionate about, brought me through facebook to Maria Bakari (Rhodes) and through her to Maria Scordialos. Ever since I organize and participate in open dialogue events using Art of Hosting and Harvesting methodologies.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
After 3 years of practicing and living with the Art of Hosting, I now see a practitioner in me. I use/live it in the Municipality where I work as a civil servant and also during my work as a researcher on community development. What I enjoy most and the space I want to further cultivate is the hosting of children/youth and families.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
So far, it has been transition, creativity, local democracy, community development. I do intend to combine it within the following months as part of my PhD with Human Scale Development and Assets Based Community Development theories. Tonight, for the first time (officially) I will host children who will come with their parents at an alternative currency gathering.
Where do you live/work?
I live at the Municipality of Dionysos, a suberb of Athens.

Hello, Sevi, and welcome to the Art of Hosting community! Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. Great to see you work as a civil servant, as some of us also do! We hope you will find value in exchanging in this virtual community!
