How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I learnt about Art of Hosting through my manager, Hamish More and attended trainig in Wellington, Aotearoa late 2009 and assisted with training in Wellington in March 2010. I use it in the Department of Conservation and there is always more to learn!
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Currently getting good conversations within the conservation world. The Department of Conservation - known as DOC, is a governmnt department that I think is also the most effective environment group in the country at present. To get even more effective we are on a mission to improve our listening and dialogue skills within DOC and with the community - sounds like a great role for Art of Hosting doesn't it.
Where do you live/work?
Work in Nelson,live in Wakefield
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I am a passionate conservatinist and love being in the outdoors - what New Xealanders call being in the bush. My marvellous partner Maria Deutsch (a grand facilitator) and I have a beautiful protected native forest that will make a great Art of Hosting venue one day. Maybe I will see you there!
