How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I heard about Art of Hosting through Phil Cass of Columbus Medical Association. He directed me to the AoH website that both excited and confused me. I attended a weekend workshop in Ottawa Canada and became clearer about it.
The thing that attracts me to it is the concept of stepping back to conceive of the problem/issue in a broader way through sensing and asking the right question. As I have gained experience working with leadership groups, I have come to realize the importance of asking the right question
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I would say I am a starting practitioner. I have used some AoH techniques in my leadership development work at Cisco.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
As I create and deliver leadership development programs at Cisco, I have witnessed the power of questions, and of going though the vertigo-inducing discussions in the Theory U process. I would like to become more skilled in guiding groups through the process, including becoming ok with the discomfort of the sensing and presencing states.
Where do you live/work?
I live in Columbus, Ohio and work with groups around the world.
