How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I first came into contact with Art of Hosting in October 2009 in Halifax after a meeting with Tim Merry! Before that fateful day, I never even knew that there was another way of working together with others...well I did know, but I did not know that it existed beyond my daydreams and fantasy workworld. Once exposed, I was hooked, attracted by how immediately the practice could produce "real", authentic, heart-centred ways of working, and being in relationship at WORK that were fluid, open, creative.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have blessed to have been part of an Art of Hosting training for those in the 'food movement' in Nova Scotia, and to work with others who have embraced its brilliance and effectiveness. AoH has transformed my personal and work practices. It has allowed me to work in alignment and more openly in ways I always felt I should be able to work (but were not previously valued), with trust, believing in collective wisdom, and coming to solution and understanding together. I consider myself a practioner with some really great experience, eager to deepen...
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Currently, I work in the area of nutrition and health promotion in service of children, youth and their communities. I have also used the practice with my yoga pursuits as it is in wonderful spiritual alignment.
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I believe that all of us are well and whole and perfect, but that we might need reminders of our own capacity to heal and be whole. I love reminding people of this through my work and personal pursuits. I believe in people, that we will be able to figure things out together. And I join up with them when our passions align and when we 'find' each other. I believe that love in all its forms is the answer to everything. I practice loving as much as I can with those I meet and with what I do. I believe that life is sacred and I enjoy bringing in sacred rituals into my life and work. I am registered dietitian who is passionate about good, healthy, sustainable food. I am a yogi and Reiki practitioner and I love to share my practices. I am a lover of poetry, the mystical, mysterious, and practical magic. Right now I am into "being" in experience with my heart and soul rather than trying to understand it all with the mind!

Welcome, Michelle, great to see you here (that is, we WILL see you when you upload a photo - got a good one?). What you added to your profile will help the community see how to connect with you. There are plenty of resources to have a look at and conversations to become part of -- I hope this community will be a great one for you and you a great contribution to it! Maybe we will meet when I come to Halifax at the end of September -- I hope so!
