Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I found it on a search, but I'm not sure of the search criteria.
I've been trained in several of these hosting methods, at different times, but found the gathering of them all to be used variously as circumstances merit is brilliant! That simple, brilliant wisdom is what I found attractive.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I enrolled to attend a workshop, but had to cancel. I will enroll in the next one, scheduled nearest to me ASAP. I have read the workbook, and met with other participants, and find the concepts engaging. I have a strong intuitive capacity to host a gathering well, but my formal training has covered some of the concepts, but not included much actual applied practice.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
homelessness concerns, but the greater underlying issues of wider economic disparity between those with too much and those without enough. Searching the historical records of this phenomenon when it has occurred in the past, and resulted in violence to bring a restoration of equity in opportunity is, of course, a monstrous tragedy, that will repeat and repeat, unless we can find the way to converse as a balanced community of thought leaders to find another way; I see AoH as a tool to bring that new wisdom forward.
Where do you live/work?
Minneapolis, MN Freelance artist, writer, philanthropy researcher and writer
Would you like to share a web address?
http://3754 Pleasant Ave South; 102
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I am passionate about the intersection of art, theology, social justice and community well-being.
