Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)

I have worked as a community organizer for several years, and my strongest contributions have been my ability to facilitate group meetings and have people come to consensus. I do not consider myself new to the field, though I always feel like the work is brand new with every group I work with.

What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?

I work in the field of domestic violence prevention across the state of Texas in the U.S. There are people from a wide diversity of backgrounds as well as economic and geographic realities.

Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?

I am most interested in learning how to manage all of the stereotypes and biases that every member of society is encouraged to believe about themselves and others. I want to learn how best to help people work in groups and mitigate the effects of the unaware biases I and the participants carry.
