Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I learned about the Art of Hosting from a colleague on April 13, 2013. I was most intrigued because it was about groups which were lightly managed through conversation experiences. The words "harvest" and "conversation" pointed to a new way of thinking about collaborative leadership.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have attended other leadership (AMA) and self improvement workshops (The Forum by Landmark Education) but lately have been most attracted to Learning and the Brain conferences which link brain function with creativity and innovation through bisocciation. Art of Hosting supports brain research by encouraging connections between people's ideas thereby supporting the non-judgmental "harvesting" of thoughts which have the potential to build new products and solutions while maintaining and enjoying human contact. I am just a beginner.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Finding solutions to the increasing lack of human connection in our technology-saturated world. Creating an environment in which students at the university level WANT to talk to each other. How to re-create the US educational system as a place for creativity and innovation and fun!
Where do you live/work?
St. Cloud, MN USA
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
The US education system, curriculum, teacher qualifications, international travel, mountain climbing.
