How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I first learned about the Art of Hosting during a course called the Learning Lab at the university of Amsterdam, January - June 2011. I love that the conversations have more quality and that there is an open space created.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have been using Art of Hosting and have been working with it for a year and a half now, and am still at the beginning of learning how to use the methods on my own, by introducing them to projects I'm involved in which haven't been using AoH. In my life, I combine AoH with Mindfulness, which is a nice combination for me: it brings down the energy to the things that really matter and to what is truely important.
I would say that my competence in AoH is a starting practitioner, very eager and happy to develop my practice.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Education, healthcare, democracy, personal leadership.
Where do you live/work?
I have just moved to Karlskrona, Sweden for MSLS 2013. My homebase is Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Welcome to the Art of Hosting community, Maaike! Glad to see you here! Please post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you.
