How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
A colleague in the disability movement introduced me to it in conversation in early July 2012. The philosophy and the promise of being able to bring people who see themselves as in conflict into respectful conversation -- and the hope for change!
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have been working in spaces like this for 30 years but not directly applied this methodology. Will experiment in a university topic I deliver -- a program currently called Conversations in August ( focused on exploring the moral status of the human services clients)but will more consciously apply this approach.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Professional ethics, specifically in social work
Disability politics and policy
Where do you live/work?
