How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I learned about it during the People's summit during the Rio 20+ in june 2012. It attracted me because it contains valuable skills for engaging people to have meaningful talks, find solutions and moreover, take action!
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Im very new to Art of Hosting. I participated in some workshops at the People's summit that had Art of Hosting principles which I kept in my mind for further learning. For that reason I want to join this online community to find a way to learn more about it and find out workshops in Australia where I live.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
my main focus would be develop skills to engage and get the most of group discussions between young people, encouraging them to take further action into their life.
Where do you live/work?
I live in Mullumbimby, NSW and work with a musical program for youth called Awareness Shows.
I'd suggest connecting first with Richard Harmer or Stephen Duns, both based in Melbourne to see what's happening in those communities. We've also had an Art of Hosting training in Canberra, but I'm not sure how active that group has been.
Welcome to the Art of Hosting community, Juliana! Please post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you. And... I've noticed the web address you've listed looks like a PO Box. Do you have a web address to share?
