How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
AoH learning and methods are woven through my graduate studies in leadership and earlier coaching in Canada. I have been a member of the AoH Online Community for several years, and now feel that I can take part more fully.
The attraction derives from my natural desire to facilitate human potential--I love seeing the awakening in others when they realize their capacity is greater than they previously understood.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
20 years experience in a variety of methods that fit within the AoH frame, applied primarily in settings which are new to non-hierarchical leadership. That means less opportunity for honing through repetition, each situation differs, with result that I feel fresh continually and retain and we're growing together edge.
I balance AoH underpinnings with methodologies familiar in a corporate frame so as to expand thining, to create openness to new ways of being and transform mental models. I am relatively new to the specific AoH incarnation of a philosophy I have lived and worked for many years.
