How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
A number of good friends have pointed me towards art of hosting.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I'm a newbie at the age of 51!
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Not sure yet but i want it to relate to the work i do . I teach public speaking skills. I trained in Speaking Circles 1999 and in 2003 underwent a further training in Amsterdam.
can we become active particpants in this fleeting life rather than self-critical observers? Fundamentally I want to help people get the most out of their lives. So we can take our place without worrying about it: to stand by our father’s coffin and talk about his life or do a best mans’ speech, or thank your hosts, or do a presentation at work or simply serve your audience in a better way.
Welcome, John, great to see you here (that is, we WILL see you when you upload a photo - got a good one?). The more you add to your profile, the more the community can see how to connect with you. There are plenty of resources to have a look at and conversations to become part of -- I hope this community will be a great one for you and you a great contribution to it! You might want to begin by contacting Linda Mitchell in Leeds to see what the AoH UK community is up to now.
