How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?: I learned about circle practice in 2008 through an Ecotopia youth camp I volunteered at co-hosted by Sierra Club Atlantic and GPI Atlantic. I learned more about open space when I first started working at the Ecology Action Centre in 2010. Recently, (Jan. 16-18, 2013) I took an Art of Hosting training through ALIA at Mt. St. Vincent University.

Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward): starting practitioner

What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?: Community meetings, project work, conflict resolution, and environmental education.

Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?: Dialogue for Peaceful Change is an amazing conflict mediation/facilitation approach that I've been trained in at the Tatamagouche Centre in Nova Scotia (there are training centres around the world). The training and practice of it is quite transformative. I cannot say enough about this approach!

I'm also very passionate about environmental and earth education. The Adventure Earth Centre in Halifax is doing amazing work: http://www.earthed.ns.ca/
The work of the Ecology Action Centre is also quite amazing. We have been taking action on environmental issues for over 40 years: www.ecologyaction.ca
