How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?: I was introduced to the Art of Hosting by Simon Wilson from Great Britain in early 2011. I felt an immediate affinity for the work. Over the past year I have been moving toward hosted versus facilitated gatherings so I decided it was time to join the conversation.

Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward): I am experienced meeting facilitator with many years of experience, education and training in facilitation, group dynamics, systems thinking and change processes. I also know how to hold space for groups at an energetic level. While I am relatively new to the forms (World Café, Open Space, Appreciative Inquiry, Circle) I have a strong affinity for the work itself.

What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?: Currently I'm working in 2 sectors: nurturing emerging businesses in the start-up community (primarily tech) and not-for-profit membership based organizations. Business issues are the focus of both and the depth of the work frequently delights me. People are hungry for a voice and opportunities for change. I would like to expand my practice to include civil society and governance.

Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?: For more than a decade I've been intrigued by the energy dynamics of collective wisdom, collective resonance and the power of place to influence those dynamics for better or for worse.
