How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?

I learned about it in Karlskrona, Sweden in 2008 through the Strategic Leadership toward Sustainability program. I later attended a few meetups in Ottawa in 2009 & 2010. I am drawn to world cafe facilitaiton techniques, and I see the major effects of seemingly minor differences in how these events are hosted - and I believe that Hosting is an ART.

Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)

Somewhere between starting practicioner and experienced practicioner. I have hosted numerous adult learning events, including world cafe's, open space, workshops, games, and courses.

Sustainability literacy & human system dynamics
