Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I met Filiz and Valentine who were passionate about Art of Hosting and shared their experiences and knowledge in Villeseque des Corberier village South of France 21st of July 2011.
I have been looking for a wider community to connect to in order to make sense of what I am occupied with and learn new tools, new methods to share my visions and help people to make change happen. I am also interested in meeting inspiring people from all over the world and do things together.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Art of Hosting is something that combines a lot of what I been working with for years. I am novice in Art of Hosting but experienced practitioner and researcher in community building, networking, alternative education (intuitive pedagogy and waldorf education, Step by Step programme etc), transformative change and learning (MA in Transformative leaning at workplace and Adult Education).
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I have been interested in and working with/for minorities and the oppressed groups like disabled people, ethnic groups, women, children etc. Nature and sustainable living combined with creativity and human freedom are my other main topics today.
Where do you live/work?
Sweden, Estonia, Europe
Would you like to share a web address?
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I write poetry in Estonian, Swedish and English. My poems are often about my contact with nature and humanity. I love to find the words that can carry the message, talk to me and can build a bridge between the people...
I also love to make music, to sing, play and create sounds and voices. It gives me and the others happiness and joy.
Nature and culture are not opposites to me. My Estonian background gives me native tools to understand both and combine the two. I believe that Estonians have strong connection to the world because of the historic advantage of being one of the last native groups in Europe. Our language is full of strong powerful ancient words that still carry the (unconscious) connections to nature. I think that is the gift that we can and should share with others in the world.
I am also passionate about human learning and social change. I believe in positive change and that everyone can participate in making big things happen. Everyone (also the nature) is as important and has the right to flourish and fulfillment.
