The leading edge of playful, co-creative leadership. Our interest is in the potential of play to spark moments of inspired co-creation that lead to wise and sustained action. How can play add to all those wonderful tools and resources we already have ?*  We want to show up as our whole selves and set ourselves free to experiment and innovate together.*  We want to explore how play can help us to access the deep wisdom and collective intelligence that we might otherwise miss*  We want to discover…See More

Notes from Pro Action Cafe strand re 'CLDI' - an Ireland based Community of Practice

(CLDI - stands for Collaborative Leadership Development Initiative - it is a deliberately clumsy holding name waiting for a better name to emerge - about 50 people are in it at the moment)- the physical representation that came to us was a circle of friends, but something organic that could morph, split and un-split into different shapes at different times- thinking of this 'cldi' thing in terms of lifestages feels important, not just being concerned with how it is now or in any particular…See More

We Had Tired of Confusion poem - gifted on to us from Mary Stacey

We Had Tired of Confusion – Roger Lipsey We had tired of confusion, stupidity, and evil And so we climbed the mountain to see From a great height, through clearest air, The grand design. We saw the abstract Of experience: the sacred algorithm That shakes itself into ten thousand forms and lives, Sets the swarm in motion though it is simple in itself, Even slightly naive. We were dazzled. But my wife was soon uneasy. 'I miss little things,' she said. 'I can’t see threads or bugs Or harmless…See More

Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I connected with it at ALIA in 2007 - I was particularly attracted by the metaphor of AoH being the operating system below a set of methodologies.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I called and co-hosted the first (and so far only) AoH in Ireland in May 2008. We had a great time and the ripples still ripple (or do whatever else it is that ripples do).

I am an experienced practitoner in the sense that I have done a lot of things and I know I am a beginner too.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I do a lot of work around sustainability / growing resilient systems.
Where do you live/work?
Mostly Ireland
Would you like to share a web address?
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I have a particular interest in how we can best infect / influence the practices of large numbers of people - as well as being part of a smaller number who are busy pushing the boundaries / connecting the pieces / deepening etc
