How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I believe I first hear about Art of Hosting sometime 2010 in a toasty coffee conversation. I got "hooked" more recently at a Participatory Leadership workshop with Mary-Alice and Lena here in Madison, WI (Nov 2011).
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am new to Art of Hosting as a whole, and am a growing practitioner of several of the practices (AI, WC, OS), and a learning practitioner of circle. I use the practices and philosophy in life and in my work as a professional facilitator/consultant/coach.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Anyone who's truly passionate about making a difference has my full support, so I set many tables. Current personal passions that intersect with paid work include: Education (primary education and school governance, in particular); the environment (especially grassroots efforts); and sustainable human endeavors (focusing on questions such as How do we renew ourselves in service of a more peaceful, just, equitable world? How do we honor the margins? How do we transform our model of human energy use to maximize each person's contribution?).
Where do you live/work?
Madison, WI

Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I am deeply passionate about the invitation of silence, the power of questions that reach the heart, and the potential of "ordinary" people choosing a new path. I envision a world in which at least one brave, AoH-spirited individual sits with every circle/council/meeting/convention, etc. Ahhhhhhh.............

Hi! My name is Breanna and I just moved to Madison and am looking to connect with folks who are doing AoH. In Chicago (where I moved from) I had just learned about a AoH Community of Practice for IL and I'm trying to figure out if there is anything like that here. I've done World Cafes and read a lot about the other parts of AoH and am wanting to use and learn more about these techniques. Do you know if there are any groups of folks here in Madison who are getting together to learn more about AoH? Thanks!
