How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
My first experience with the Art of Hosting was through the event Hosting Our Evolution (November 2011, Pembroke ON). I was initially attracted to this event and to the Art of Hosting itself by the use of participatory leadership principles and processes. What keeps me attracted beyond that initial experience is the opportunities this approach offers to build relationships and trust, get creative together and learn more about myself and others.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Since that first experience I have been trying to incorporate the principles and processes of AoH in my work on leadership development in rural communities - from larger programming to daily interactions and meetings with others. Through my work I had the amazing opportunity to recently host an AoH training for leaders in rural Ontario. I would say that I am a starting practitioner ... excited to learn and explore more with others!
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
hosting as a leadership approach, hosting to engage others in the creation of vibrant communities, hosting to improve our relationships
Where do you live/work?
Guelph, Ontario

Welcome to the Art of Hosting community, Alicia! Glad to see you here! Please post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you.
