How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
July 24 - 26, 2013, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.
I was attracted to the idea of learning new tools to use in the work I do.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
During the training, I realized that I do use some of the Art of Hosting techniques, but didn't use the same words to express the ideas. I have also participated in World Cafe, etc. So, having only taken one workshop, I am certainly new, but am very keen on eventually working towards becoming a practitioner.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Working with community groups (NGOS).
Where do you live/work?
Tofino, British Columbia, Canada
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I am passionate about building community. I live in a location that has seen considerable division and discontent, yet I feel our communities (I work with 8) have more in common than we sometimes acknowledge. I am working towards having us work and think like a region.
