The Art of Hosting

Copied from the emaillist, Oct.'12:
I'm in the break time of a ProAction cafe with 100 union activists. They are working on ways to focus their activism on working for the broader community good.
A new situation to me occurred as we went into the reflection round. Several hosts had similar topics around convening youth and engaging disengaged people. During the reflection time they found each other and asked me if it was okay if they compared notes.
Of course I said it was fine and they proceeded to sharpen their proposals.
So although I wouldn't explicitly say that people should do that in the reflection period I think this self organizing impulse, especially within an already connected community is a good thing to allow. It means that as they go into the final round they have a sense if other similar actions being born.
Just a practice note to share...
