Event Description

We are witnessing a massive re-claiming of public and communal space in the world right now. It is cascading across the world, through our public squares, parks, streets, and our hearts. As citizens, we are becoming architects of our collective future, but how do we actually co-create - design and build - the next level of powerful communal places that are needed now?

We call for participation, expression, communication, interaction, integration, co-operation, co-creation

Mitzpe Ramon
a beautiful community in the Negev Desert

Sarah-jan, salam!

Thanks for sharing this poem. Are there any harvest documents from this event? Having taken part in a portion of City Repair's Village Building Convergence and Design Course earlier this year, the Mitspe Ramon gathering was of much interest to me. I'd love to hear more!

with appreciation from across the Great Pond,

Our gathering was beautiful and powerful - 30 people gathering to make a powerful communal place in the Negev.  Here is a harvest poem from the opening Circle, written by Vanessa Reid, on behalf of the field December 8, 2011 - that set the tone and intention of our inquiry together.

We now bring our learnings and collaborative practices into the places we live and work.

"Thanks to all for your beautiful participation and for making such a powerful communal place" Meni Rosenberg
