An Art of Hosting training in London September 20-22nd!

Dear fellow practitioners in the UK

My name is Lama and I live in Copenhagen, Denmark and in September I'm participating in a course in London. While hearing the news from London and other cities this week, something in me keeps saying that I need to go to London and support the people who are just now beginning to rebuild their communities while still landing what has happened.

I have started to ask around in my network for people who want to be part of a team creating an AoH training in London 20-22 of September, and also to find a place where this can happen. This is with a very short notice, but this is also a new context. I'm looking into the possibility of having the training at the HUB or Landmark Education Center, because that's where my network takes me. But I find it just as if not more suitable to have it in a community center or on a school in one of the affected parts of the city.

How does this resonate with you?

Do others in this group have the call to support the healing process and make this training available in London?

Please contact me if you wish to host this with me, have a place, materials to spare or someone you know who wants to participate and hep their community.

Hi Lama - good to hear from you and great you are coming to London, whats the course you are on?  Are you connected with the AoH community of practice in Denmark, give my love to David if so.

Ok an AoH training in London - wow thats a short time span to put in place a hosting team, find a venue, craft an invite and sense into the purpose of the trainig and then bring sufficient participants togehter to make it viable.  

Not at all wanting to pour cold water on your call,  but just knowing what it takes to get a training off the ground. - and then again some can just fly off the page if the time is right and you are righe, this is a new context.  So why not give me a ring and lets talk about it - 0113 2681656

Also just to let you know we have a fledgeling AoH community of practice here in the UK - we met in Spring and are due to meet again together in October.  If you are still here in the UK then it would be good to invite you to this gathering where Im pretty sure the riots and the rebuild will be on the open space agenda board in an instant - Love and speak soon   Linda xx

Thanks for your responses. The course I'm attending is the first communication course at Landmark Education. I participated in the Landmark Forum and Advanced course last year and has gotten some really great tools and many great friends through that network. I'll be in the course all Saturday and Sunday and then Thursday evening.

I know it's a short time to create a training, and I'm also open to see if it fits better with dates in October. I'll be in London that week and I know almost anything is possible if the idea lands with people who wants to make it happen. I'm thinking a pro bono training, where the only costs would be flying in hosts if no one from London can/wants to be there - or unless I can find a way to get flights sponsored.

I am in a place where yes, it could be an extremely professional invitation, a fancy spot, 100 paying participants and the whole training planned in detail - or it could be in the end that I am the only host and that only 15 people show up in a classroom on a school somewhere and from there we create a space for understanding, learning and inspiring conversations. Either way, my commitment is sharing what I can with those who want to be there. And I do believe that could be 100 great people, 2-4 hosts, materials and a location sponsored - and ripple effect.

I won't be moving to UK, but I'm a part of the AoH community in Denmark, where we also meet every 2nd month for a Dojo at Davids place :) What dates is the Oct. gathering?

I'd love to talk to you Linda, and there are a few others from UK, the HUB and elsewhere that I have to contact in the next days about making a training. If you are on skype, maybe we can connect there? My username is lamajuma.
