Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I'm involved in a few groups that uses some of the process used in Art of Hosting (including world cafe, open space and appreciative inquiry). A colleague of mine did the 2008 AoH training in Melbourne and suggested I attend the training.
I'm new to AoH with broad facilitation experience in a variety of settings.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I'm involved in three primary areas: community services, the transition town movement and my daughters' school.
Where do you live/work?
Newcastle
Would you like to share a web address?
http://www.newcastle.edu.au/research-centre/fac/
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I'm currently working at the Family Action Centre, University of Newcastle with a focus on teaching and research around community engagement, strength-based practice and asset based community development. I'm also the president of the Parents & Citizens Association at Lambton Public School (where my two beautiful daughters attend), and the secretary of Transition Newcastle (a group exploring how Newcastle can transition to a low carbon future).

I've been involved in a variety of community groups and organisations both as a worker and a volunteer. My employment history has mostly been in youth and community work, and (in addition to my family) I have a passion for nonviolence, social change and sustainability (and music).
