How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I learned about AoH through different people who kind of appeared simultaneously in my life, and who I quickly learned to identify as my "tribe". The purpose of this community attracted me, as I understood it as a new way of building bridges between people and perspective, to enable us to solve complex issues together. I have always wanted to be part of the solution to the challenges we as humans are facing as a species, and felt that that the AoH approach allowed me to contribute in ways I had not been able to envision before.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am a starting practitioner in the Art of Hosting. AoH helped me validate some of the intuitions I had about the way to handle issues of learning and co-creation, and therefore change the way I work within groups. I would not be able to revert to the ways I used to do things before discovering the guiding principles of AoH.
My main purpose in bringing the Art of Hosting into my life and work is to look for ways to enable us to become indigenous to the places we inhabit.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I focus on participatory practices in reflecting on public space, as well as designing projects & interventions.
I also help youth develop their environmental leadership through designing collective projects and developing self-awareness.
Welcome to the Art of Hosting community, Cédric! Please post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you.
