How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I was invited to participate in the pilot of Action Learning in the European Commission in 2008. The community has grown out of that. Initially it was very much under the radar, but now it is an accepted part of the Commission''s work. (Not to say that there are not still sceptics around).
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Experienced practitioner. I have facilitated a significant number of events in the European Commission and inter-institutionally. Now involved in starting up a community in Latvia.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Planning events. Facilitating events. Overall, seeking the right questions to get the conversation moving in a productive way.
Where do you live/work?
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I believe that AoH principles can make a difference in all spheres of life. They can (and should) be applied in daily life, not just in community or work events, but in all facets. My passion is seeing a difference by asking the right questions...

Hello Valda! Lovely to hear from you. Great to know that AoPL continues to open paths in Luxembourg. Do you hold seminars from time to time? Has the community of practice grown? Still pulling in outside consultants? That's wonderful that you were approached by 2 Latvians to build a network there. I remember that was your dream! So much is happening across the globe ... it's really encouraging! All the best, be well and happy journeys!
Hello, Valda! I'm so pleased to be the one to welcome you to the Art of Hosting ning! Glad to see you here. Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you. We hope you will find value in exchanging in this virtual community! And I hope our paths cross sometime soon.
