How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
Through friends/colleagues:
- Weibke Herding (Belgium, 2009)
- Ingrid Liepa (BC, Canada, 2010)
They had great experiences and recommended your workshops as well as online community.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have never taken an Art of Hosting workshop however I have been facilitating networks, knowledge and partnerships as part of my work since 2003. In 2007 I opened up my own consulting practice and offered training in participatory meetings, facilitation and collaboration. The underpinning of my work, philosophy and approach seems to be in line with that of the Art of Hosting. I would say my competence is mid-level practitioner.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I work on the topics of sustainable development. In the last 5 years specifically on climate change adaptation and sustainability planning. Over the last ten years my work has been on international community development, giving people voice in disadvantaged communities, though in the last two years, I work less internationally.
Where do you live/work?
I live in Rossland, BC and I work in the region, in BC, Canada and abroad.
