How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I first learned about Art of Hosting in fall of 2012--I participated in a day long training in Madison, WI on 11/9/12 and a 3-day long training in Madison from 3/14-3/16/12 with Jerry Nagel & Tuesday Ryan Hart.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am an Astrologer & Coach, Singer-Songwriter, Storyteller & Writer. At the core essence of all of my work is a commitment to creating spaces where people are drawn to fully love and embrace who they are. I use Art of Hosting to hold space for people to tell their stories, to find loving community, and to transform their shame into shining. I'm a trained Life Coach of 8 years and formerly a Facilitator/Project Coordinator with the Interactivity Foundation (a dialogue and deliberation non-profit based in WV), whom I worked with for 3 years. I participated in a vibrant weekly Circle Practice while living in Madison for about 1.5 years before moving to NYC and following the AOH training in 2013 hosted a large group storytelling event called "Shining Without Shame" using AOH practices. I would consider myself an intermediate practitioner at this point who is excited to continue to learn grow and practice.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Transformational events that move people from shame to shining as fully expressed beings.
